Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 21 July 2026
FOOX LTD wants Xoof to be usable by as many people as possible. This statement covers this website (xoof.me) and the Xoof app. We publish it because a vague promise to "care about accessibility" is worth nothing next to an honest list of what does not yet work.
Our target
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. We are not claiming full conformance: Xoof is a small product and it has not had an independent accessibility audit. The status below is from our own testing.
What we do
- Text and meaningful interface elements are checked for AA contrast against our dark surfaces.
- Colour is never the only way information is conveyed. Macros, food groups and score components always carry a text label or glyph as well as a colour, and our score ramp separates by hue as well as brightness so that it stays readable with a red–green colour vision deficiency.
- The site and app are navigable by keyboard, with a visible focus outline on every interactive element.
- Interface animation, including scroll reveals, is disabled when your system requests reduced motion.
- Layouts reflow to narrow screens and at increased zoom without horizontal scrolling.
- Every method of logging has a manual, typed alternative — voice and camera capture are never the only way to do something.
- Images that carry meaning have alternative text; decorative photography is hidden from assistive technology.
Known problems
We know about the following, and we are not going to pretend otherwise:
- Charts. Training and nutrition charts are rendered visually and are not yet exposed as accessible data tables to screen reader users. The same underlying numbers are available elsewhere in the app, but that is not an equivalent experience.
- Screen reader coverage. The app has not been tested end-to-end with every major screen reader. Some dynamic regions — the coach conversation and the capture review sheet in particular — may announce updates inconsistently.
- Barcode scanning requires a camera and steady aim, and has no non-visual alternative beyond typing the barcode number in manually, which we do support.
- No independent audit has been carried out, so there may be barriers we have not found.
Tell us about a barrier
If something in Xoof is difficult or impossible for you to use, please tell us — it is the fastest way for it to get fixed, and we would rather know.
Email fooxxed@gmail.com with what you were trying to do, what got in the way, and any assistive technology you were using. We aim to reply within five working days, and we will tell you honestly whether and when we can fix it. If you need information from Xoof in a different format, ask and we will do our best to provide it.
Enforcement
Xoof is a private-sector service, so the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018 do not apply to it. We do have duties under the Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments, and we take those seriously. If you are unhappy with how we have responded to an accessibility complaint, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
